She has somehow managed to stay in Kindergarten all of those years, with the exception of five years in first grade, and also taught a parent participation preschool for a short while! She has presented at conferences nationwide, and is the owner and founder of Heidi has also created fourteen original CD's and DVD's for teaching beginning reading and math skills, three musical plays designed especially for young performers, and has written some picture books and many other teaching resources. Heidi's multimedia workshops are filled with fun and motivational educational activities that have been classroom tested and revised for effectiveness with all types of learners.
  1. I’m so excited about using iPads in our classroom! my first graders have just started using QR codes to elf-correct their math activities. We also use them for learning and practicing reading and math skills. Reading and listening to stories on the iPad is great fun, too.

  2. I am hoping to set up an iPad center in our classroom. I would use apps for handwriting, math, phonics and literacy. I also would use an iPad for communicating with an autistic child.

  3. I would use the iPad for reading and math stations as well as differentiating for students by showing them videos of sounds or sight words that they need more practice on. It would make it so much easier to test on ESGI since it’s portable.

  4. I use the IPads as a center. I record them when they read their glyphs then I post them to the families. I’d like to get to know how to use the QR codes.

  5. We have one iPad which we use during center time. They love using it for Raz-Kids right now. The kids check the morning center schedule every day when they come in hoping it’s their turn!

  6. Using an iPAD to share HeidiSongs resources would be so beneficial. Also would use an iPAD to foster student talk and discussion about pictures and about student work that I could post and display. I would also use an iPAD for assessment purposes. Thanks for opportunity to teachers for this giveaway.

  7. I would use an iPad during my reading workshop and math workshop rotations. I would hope to be able to also have stories for a listening post. It would be exciting to have an iPad in my kindergarten class.

  8. I would be thrilled to have an iPad in my classroom to use to test, teach, and help the students to improve their skills. I would love to use ESGI in my classroom. It looks great!

  9. I would be able to have my students see and use technology that they have not or might not ever experience. I would use it in centers. I could teach them about OR codes, etc.

  10. I would love to use an ipad in my classroom. We could use it as a center to practice all our skills. We could use it to make things to share what we do with our parents. We could use it for organization stuff in the classroom – books, seats, behaviors. We could use qr codes. They would love using the technology in the classroom! Thanks for this chance!

  11. I would use an iPad in my classroom to further teach my students the standards needed to get to the next grade level. I would use it, also, to keep up with data, classroom notes, anecdotal notes, etc. I have friends that use iPads in their classroom but I don’t have one for personal use nor classroom use. I’m sure there are lots of different uses for an iPad in my classroom and can’t wait to explore to discover all the ways!

  12. I would use the iPad doing small group reading and math. So students can use it as an independent center. We have very limited technology and most of the time our student computers don’t even work.

  13. There are tons of ways to use QR Codes. I would totally start putting them everywhere if I had a way for the kids to access the links. An iPad would be perfect!!!

  14. Winning this iPad would be such an awesome tool for my students and myself as a teacher. I truly believe kids learn so much when they have technology in their hands. An iPad could be used for lang art reading small groups, math small groups, daily 5, RTI time, testing, and so much more! Thank you for your consideration!

  15. I would use the iPad in as many ways as I could manage. One way would be to have guests volunteer to record themselves reading books, then put a QR code linked to their recording in the book they read so my kinders could have books read to them by real people they actually know!

  16. I would use my iPad for centers: literacy guided reading groups and even for math. I would also use it to test ESGI!

  17. I would use my Ipads to help with guided reading and literacy groups. My first graders really need more resources in the classroom and this would absolutely help! Thank you for this.
